Amherst weekly crime report – June 24, 2011

Petit Larceny, Seminole Drive, June 19th; Heather Nicole Bateman, a 21 year old female of Monroe Street, was charged with taking items from Food Lion Seminole Drive

Grand Larceny, North Amherst Highway, June 20th; cash was taken from a parked car

Identity Theft, Union hill Road, June 20th; a resident had their identity assumed by another and several accounts opened in their name

Credit Card Fraud, Tye River Road, June 17th; a resident had their credit card and wallet stolen and several charges made without their permission

Malicious Wounding, Branch Drive, June 18th; Amy Jean Waugh, a 51 year old female of Crab Creek Road Madison Heights, was arrested for stabbing a male victim whom she knew, she was held on a secured bond pending a preliminary hearing in Amherst General District Court, the victim refused treatment

Shoplifting, Madison Square, June 19th; Michael Aubrey Carter, a 29 year old male of Lankford Lane Lynchburg, was charged with taking items from Wal-Mart

Petit Larceny, Madison Square, June 19th; Courtney Dickerson, an 18 year old female of Overlook Drive Madison Heights, was charged with taking items from Wal-Mart

Credit Card Fraud, Lewis Keith Road, June 19th; a resident had their credit card used without their permission

Burglary, Winesap Road, June 22nd; Colby Ray Byers, a 20 year old male of Kenwood Drive Lynchburg, and Jesse Thomas Garbee, a 20 year old male of Clarks Road Rustburg, were both charged with attempted burglary on Tuesday June 21st. Their arrests came as deputies located Mr. Byers exiting a residence on Winesap Road and Mr. Garbee waiting in the neighborhood for him in a vehicle.

Petit Larceny, Main Street, June 19th; a kids bicycle were taken from a yard

Credit Card Fraud, Monacan Park Road, June 10th; a resident had their Sears credit card used without permission
